Lesson Five

We're down to the final lesson now, which is putting the thing together.

I've been mulling over two possibilities: first, the easiest, is to just sew it together. If you have a pillow form that fits your finished pillow cover, you can sew up three sides, put in the pillow form, and then sew the top.

A second option for filling might be to stuff it with fiber fill. This will probably work if your pillow top pieces turned out on the stiffer side, but I'm not sure how nice it would be otherwise. I've actually been debating this option, because I've yet to find pillow forms. I've also thought of making one myself....

The second option I've been pondering for the finishing is whether it's possible to place the pieces right sides out (wrong sides together), and work some i-cord all the way around. This idea appeals to me.   I've done i-cord finishes on garment edges, but I've never done it by trying to work two pieces together with the i-cord.

Experiment with these options and decide what you like best!
