Never name a puppy "Lively Spirit" unless you truly want a lively spirit!
Bailie as a young puppy sitting nicely

Here I am in my youth - at a young and impressionable age.
I was trying to make a good impression.
Don't I look calm and composed.

Boy, did I fool mom that day!

I tried to convince mom that I was just practicing for agility.
I don't think that I actually fooled her for long.
I got quite good at getting out of this pen.

No jail is strong enough to hold me!!!

Mom wanted me to pose so she could take the last picture
on the roll of film. She tried everything.
This was the best she got.
Hey, an almost 11 month old lad has stuff to do!!!

Beardie motto: Any time is play time

Bailie moving shepp

I had never seen sheep before and wasn't quite sure
what mom wanted me to do.
Pretty soon I figured out what I was supposed to do
and I moved those sheep around and kept them together.
Now I have letters with my name too!!

My new motto: "Show me the sheep..."

We went to the Bearded Collie Club of Canada Specialty...

I tried really hard to convince mom that I wasn't a
show dog so that I could stay with the sheep,
but the nice lady judge gave me a ribbon anyway.

Bailie in the hydrotherapy pook with Kelly, his therapist

On March 31, 2008 Bailie was stricken by a fibrocartilaginous embolism which effected his rear. The immediate effect was that he could not get up, stand or walk. He spent a week at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Guelph, Ontario. After he came home I did intensive physiotherapy with him and after another week started Bailie with hydrotherapy.

Bailie is now able to be independent, despite having some residual neurological damage.
In these photos, taken in November 2008, Bailie is wandering around in the front yard.
