Ian was involved in a production of the new musical "Rob Roy" written by David Warrack, which had a week's engagement at last summer's Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The cast recording of this original work is also available... In January, Shaggy Haggis did their first orchestral gig with the International Symphony, Jerry Summers conducting, in a Celtic program in Sarnia with a repeat performance January 19th in Port Huron...our first US appearance! A great time was had by all and we did a repeat performance the following week with the Stratford Civic Orchestra. You can also catch Ian playing his pipes every second Wednesday along with Will Henry, fiddle, at the "Dam Pub" in Thornbury. Also Mark and Lindsay are stretching out with a new group "Rant Maggie Rant"...check them out at markfletcher.ca Coming up for Shaggy Haggis: • July 28th, 2008: 3rd time up at the Festival Marquee, Festival Theatre, Statford. There are also monthly trad music sessions on the first Sunday of the month at Molly Bloom's in Stratford and every Wednesday at Chaucer's in London at which the guys can usually be found trying out new stuff... Past Highlights 2008 • January 27 with the Stratford Civic Orchestra 2007 • December 13th a benefit concert in Embro for the Sim School, the local Highland Dance Academy 2006 • September 22nd-International Plowing Match Concert in Listowel 2005 • October 8th at the Bayfield Town Hall 2004 • September-Owen Sound Celtic Festival 2003 • July-Opening of Hurley's Celtic Inn-Seaforth • Monthly at Bentley's Inn in Stratford up until 2004, every second Friday of the Month during the winters as well as their spectacular St Paddy's Day celebration...Unfortunately Bentley's have changed their entertainment policy these days and have discontinued the use of live bands. |
