Discipline Information

S.W.R.S.A. DISCIPLINE SYSTEM

IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE TEAM OR CLUB OFFICIAL DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING WITH THEIR PLAYERS AND THAT THE PLAYERS UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES:

Discipline for misconduct offences will be handled by one of the following methods. It all depends on what TYPE of offence occurred.

A) DISCIPLINE BY REVIEW SYSTEM:

Accumulation of three or more cautions, or
Dismissal for Serious Foul play when a player prevents a goal by deliberately handling the ball.

Discipline Committee will review case based on referee report only and render decision without formal hearing. Non-refundable discipline fee of $20.00 payable at SWRSA office on scheduled discipline date.

Registrant has right to Request a Hearing (Discipline fee of $30.00). Request for Hearing must be in writing and submitted within one (1) day after offence or third caution (5th or 6th etc) to the SWRSA office.

Discipline decisions made under the Discipline by Review System may not be appealed.

B) DISCIPLINE BY HEARING SYSTEM:

For all other types of misconduct the registrant or his designated representative (with a waiver) must appear before the Discipline Committee for a hearing on the scheduled discipline date.

Discipline fee of $30.00 payable at SWRSA office on scheduled Discipline date and refundable if found not guilty.

Discipline by Hearing decisions may be appealed to the Ontario Soccer Association.

C) FAILURE TO ATTEND DISCIPLINE BY REVIEW OR DISCIPLINE BY HEARING:

Failure to appear on scheduled hearing date will result in suspension until a Request for Hearing is made at the SWRSA office. A Request for Hearing fee is $50.00 and non-refundable.

D) REQUEST FOR POSTPONEMENT:

Parties required to attend a Hearing may request one postponement of a Hearing. Receipted request must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $20.00.

E) WAIVERS:

A registrant may wish to sign a waiver along with a $30.00 discipline fee and accept the decision of the Discipline Committee without a formal hearing. Only the penalties assessed in the decision may be appealed to the Ontario Soccer Association.

F) MISCELLANEOUS:

N.S.F. cheques $28.50 Administrative fee (Club Responsible for Payment)

In all cases of an alleged game official assault, the player and/or team official is suspended immediately from all soccer related activity until the case has been dealt with by the SWRSA. Said person will be notified, in writing, of when and where to appear.
