UNLEARNED AND IGNORANT MEN?

					YOU MUST
				 BE KIDDING !

That’s what they called the apostles Peter and John, in the book of Acts. Who called them that?--the rulers, elders, scribes, the high priest—the "respectables" of the religious community.

After all, from what school did Peter and John graduate ? What degrees did they have ?

Well, to start with, they had just spent three years in residence with the greatest Teacher Who ever lived -- Jesus Christ ! But then, He was not an approved professor from a recognized school either.

The test of every school is it's graduates. By that measure, Peter and John were doing pretty well: they had just preached a sermon to which five thousand men had responded--following the healing of a lame man !

The whole matter rested on the value system of the educational establishment that was in conflict with a higher standard...God's standard.

Isaiah wrote, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isa 55:9)

You see, we are all about to leave this world where man's degrees mean everything, to arrive in a world where man's degrees mean nothing! And that world is eternal !

When we stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, if we hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant"...then none of the negative comments of the educational elite will matter in the slightest. On the other hand, if we do not hear Him say "Well done...", then all the recognized degrees or awards we have accumulated in our lifetime will not matter at all !

Educational one-upmanship has invaded our modern Christian education field.

The president of a Bible college tells me that others in the same accrediting association belittle his earned doctorate because he graduated from "a lesser university".

I sat with the board of a Bible school as they discussed degrees and accrediting associations. The chancellor said, "It's all pure snobbery !" The founder of the school stated emphatically, "There is no such thing as pure snobbery !"

Paul, the apostle who had the advantage of both kinds of education, said, "For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to them that perish...(God) will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent...God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise...to bring to nothing the wisdom of men."

We must not allow humanistic standards to become the basis for Bible education ! Creationists will never be respectable in the eyes of evolutionists.

In our view, the test of a school is not how many books they have in their library, nor how many degrees they have on their faculty, or how many universities will accept their credits...but how well that school communicates the message of the Scripture, and how well their graduates serve His kingdom !

Half a century ago, an army of Bible institute graduates went into our churches and around the world, without degrees, spreading the gospel and teaching the Bible doctrines that they had learned from godly teachers. For decades they were the pioneers and defenders of the faith. Many considered them to be, like Peter and John, "unlearned and ignorant men".

They were not; they had been with Jesus in devotions and study, soaking in a curriculum that was full of Bible content.

We have chosen to pursue those degrees that stand for Bible content...only. This is the knowledge and wisdom that you will find in our curriculum.

We pledge that we will not change our curriculum or teaching to gain respectability from those schools that reject Biblical values !

There is another factor: the servants of God in these last days must know that they are in the last days in order to accomplish the ministry assigned to the church in the last days...and that involves major commitments that will bring God's servants into direct conflict with man's values and social systems...at great cost.

The test of a school in these times includes how well it prepares people for that situation. If a school with that kind of value system appeals to you, we invite you to write to us for more information, or phone toll free (888-835-7007).

For those educators who disagree with our Bible-based curriculum and degrees, there is a little humour we can't resist. In James 1:9 the apostle writes, "Let the brother of low degree rejoice."

At our school, we let them rejoice! In fact, we rejoice with them !
