MEET THE AUTHORS

Rev. Henry J. Kanters

Hank sat at the breakfast table at 4 a.m. at his Niagara region farm, and reviewed his life. Though he had attended church in his early years, his life was now filled with alcohol, gambling and violence. Recently he had observed the change in his wife, Kathy, since her conversion. He knew she had been praying for him.

In desperation Hank prayed, "Lord Jesus, if you are really there, come in and take over my life, because I'm fed up with it." Hank became a new creature in Christ. After 15 years absence from church, he began to attend with Kathy. For the first time in his 33 years he began to read the Bible...and he couldn't put it down.

His call to the ministry came from the text, "With your feed shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace." After Bible training, Rev. Kanters came to Cambridge, Ontario, where he and Kathy founded (and still pastor) the Cambridge Christian Centre, an independent, charismatic church. His interest in world missions has taken him to Mexico, Guatemala, India and Bulgaria.

Rev. Kanters is founder and president of Cambridge Bible School. He has unique insights into the Biblical teaching of the nature and needs of the human heart, and Christ's answer to those needs. His teaching emphasizes a heart knowledge of the Bible and a life-changing application of gospel principles, illustrated by real-life examples of Christ at work in daily living. He has a keen desire to see people experience the power of the Gospel, learn the principles of God's kingdom, and be equipped to serve God.

Rev. Harvey G. Lainson, M.B.R.

A graduate of Prairie Bible Institute, Harvey served as a teaching pastor in New Brunswick, Ontario and Michigan. Ordained in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Harvey is now a credentialed minister of the Missionary Church of Canada. He served as crusade director for a city-wide evangelistic team, working with more than 50 denominations; for eleven years he was Canadian Executive Director for a foreign missionary society.

In thirty years of activity with a Christian political party, Harvey served in many capacities -- from constituency secretary to National Leader. He has represented many evangelical charities before government departments.

He is founder and president of Bible Research International, a degree-granting organization promoting Bible training for Christian workers. All of the courses offered are accredited with B.R.I. which issues the Bachelor of Bible Research degree.

Administrator and consultant to Christian organizations for over 20 years, he has served on many boards (Worldteam, Missionary Internship, Christian Freedom, Bible Ministries International, etc.) and the Board of Governors of Emmanuel Bible College.

Overheard at one of his courses: "I grew up on this kind of teaching; my pastor was Dr. A. W. Tozer !"
