Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls:

When a man becomes a Mason, he is taught a pattern for living -reverence, morality , kindness, dependability and compassion .He must be prepared to maintain honourable relations with others and be willing to share in Masonic activities.

From what I have read about our late Bro. Samuel Horner, I have learned he was a man who lived by the teachings and principles of Freemasonry...on a daily basis .

He was a man who devoted his life to his community , his career and ensuring for the well being, of those less fortunate.

When you review the history and life of Samuel Horner ..you will find he lived by the principles of Freemasonry ..Brotherly Love ..Relief ..and Truth .

Similar teachings, that carried over in his daily work with the North West Mounted Police .

On behalf of the Masons of Stratford, South Huron District and the Province of Ontario, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation, to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for taking the time to recognize ..our Brother ..Samuel Hopkins Horner .

Today, we gather together, so generations of the future may know, and appreciate, the past.
