Rehoboth Girls' Home of Refuge and Support
The legal name of the home is "Rehoboth Girls' Home of Refuge and Support". This title has been modified (unofficially) to encompass the expansion of the ministry into three locations.
Rehoboth Home Incorporated is governed by an interdenominational, volunteer Board of Directors and seven committees.
REHOBOTH MINISTRIES is comprised of three locations, Rehoboth Home, Rehoboth Support Housing and Rehoboth Crisis Pregnancy Centre.
Rehoboth is named after a well as recorded in Genesis 26:22. Isaac said, "Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land." The word Rehoboth is sometimes defined as "God has made room for all."
Rehoboth Home was established in response to the need for a viable alternative to abortion for young women. The Christian Community responded and enabled the house to be purchased in December of 1987. The dedication service was held in April of 1988. Most of the furnishings and supplies were donated or purchased through donated funds. The first residents also moved in at that time.
Rehoboth Support Housing was established in the summer of 1995, when the Board of Directors recognized a need and set out to fill a gap in the community. Rehoboth Support Housing offers semi-independent living for young women age 18 and over who have need of pre-natal and post-natal support, yet do not wish to live in a family style setting.
Rehoboth Crisis Pregnancy Centre was established in June, 2000. The Board of Directors decided to fulfill a need based on statistics provided on the rate of teen pregnancies in the area. The Centre offers free pregnancy tests, a non-judgmental listening ear and support if needed. There is no age limit for services and all services are free of charge.
