Green Canyon Orchid Laboratories was originally set up in 1986 to propagate orchid species for orchid conservation of predominantly Peruvian species. Conservation through mass propagation describes what we do.
Now that Peru has several orchid propagation laboratories, including some I helped set up, our laboratory will concentrate on work with orchid mycorrhizas and their role in orchid conservation.
Seedlings still in flasks on the shelf will be offered to orchid societies across Canada. Each society will be contacted individually in the next few months.
This website will keep on featuring pictures of The Orchid Find Of The Century, Phragmipedium kovachii and orchid conservation related topics.
Growing an orchid in your home that was propagated in-vitro and not ripped out of it's natural habitat is a contribution to orchid conservation and preservation, however small people may believe that contribution is.
If you are such a grower, congratulations.
