VOLUNTEERS

All volunteers will receive training in the following areas:

  1. Non Violent Crisis Intervention
  2. Health and Safety Issues
  3. Mental Health Issues
  4. Site Training as Required


This will give you, the volunteer the tools to deal with simple situations. Realize that you will never be asked to work alone and someone will always be there with experience to lead you. At the start of the sessions there will be time to register.

Safety In The Kitchen St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Kitchener 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Wednesday October 17, 2007
First Aid For Out Of The Cold St.Matthews Lutheran Church, Kitchener 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Wednesday October 24, 2007

Notes:

  1. Registration for volunteers who have worked in the program before will be available for any of the nights that the training is taking place (6:30-7:00pm).
  2. On site training will be decided by the site coordinators of the sites that you choos to work at. They will contact you as to the time and place for such training.
  3. This training includes job specific topics, familiarization of the site, and introductions to otheres who will be working with you.
