During the holidays, synagogues, churches, and mosques may have a food drive
for the poor. Load up a bag full of nonperishable groceries, such as canned
goods, to donate.
If your community church or temple doesn't have a food drive, organize one.
Contact your local soup kitchens, shelters, and homeless benefit societies and
ask what kind of food donations they would like. Give people in your
congregation or community notice about the food drive and ask for volunteers to
help you collect the food and take it to the agency of your choice.
