Karen Ding Baby Signs® Independent Certified Instructor

Hi, my name is Karen and I am an instructor for the Baby Signs® Program. I have 3 children. Nicholas is 5½ year-old, Leona is 3½ year-old and Joshua is now 1½ year-old. When Nicholas was about 1 year old, I read the book Baby Signs: How to talk to your baby before your baby can talk by Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn. Their idea made a lot of sense to me, so I started teaching Nicholas simple gestures. Soon, Nicholas would sign when he was hungry or thirsty. Life with this toddler became more interesting because we were able to communicate about lots of things before he could talk! I used the Baby Signs® Program with all of my children. I found that signing with baby is really fun, and had enhanced our relationship.

This year, I have become a Baby Signs® Independent Certified Instructor in the Toronto area. I now offer Parent Workshops and Sign, Say & Play™ classes. I wish to share the Baby Signs® program with other families because it is something that I truly believe will benefit their lives in the same exciting ways it has benefited mine.
