Commissions

Here's a general info on my commission practises.
Subject: I love doing all kinds of paintings and even if you haven't seen me paint it, feel free to inquire. I especially enjoy fantasy, dragons, pretty boys, wildlife, birds, anthro, erotica and all kinds of things I can't think of right now. I do not enjoy high tech, children or lots of gore. Please write if you wish clarification. As always i reserve the right to refuse commissions that I do not find interesting or the subject matter is not within my comfort range.
Commssion prices: These prices are an estimate and a number of things can raise the prices. These include such things as additional characters or very complicated backgrounds.
Fully rendered acrylics with one charater and moderate backgrounds
11x14 $350
16x20 $600
20x24 $800
For prices on large paintings or odd shapes, styles or other mediums please describe what you're interested in and I can get you a quote.
Generally an additional character adds $100 to the cost of a commission.
I occasionally do smaller paintings. Please inquire.

Rights: You are buying the painting itself and I retain the copyright to the painting, the right to make prints or use the image on line or in collections. If I am painting your character I'm open to negotiating me not making print or using the image further. This does not mean that you have the right to make prints to sell even if it is your character. YOu do have the option of also buying full rights to the image that would mean you could do what you want with the image and I would retain no rights to use it. If you wish an additional copyright under my signature ie so and so copyright to so and so please let me know.
You do have the right to use the image on line as an icon, avatar and other non profit uses. YOu also have the right to post the image to you LJ, My Space, Facebook, personal web page and such personal use sites. Do not remove my signature for the posting. I'm quite happy to send you a nice scan over the internet for you to chop up and render for the uses above.
How the commission wait list works: My waitlist is rather lengthy and can take a while to get to the top of. It takes around a year at this point. If wish to get added to the list all you need to do is send me a request. There is no need to put any money down. When you get close to the top of the list, I will contact you and see if you're still interested. A lot can change in a year! This also means that you need to update me if your email changes. I've lost a number of folks off my list due to that.
The actual process: When we're ready to go, you send me a description of what you would like. We work it out between the two of us till both are satisfied. Then I do a prelim, rough sketch. And it will be rough! It's just to work out the layout and such so that we know we're on the same page. At this point you can request any changes you want including major changes. This is then sent to you for your approval.
Once you get back to me with any changes, I move onto the detailed pencils. This is done on the board and will be painted over when I do the painting. This is also sent to you for approval. At this point you can ask for only minor changes and tweaking. Once you get back to me with the okays and any changes I'm onto painting. When the painting is done I'll send you a scan of the finished work. I also tend to post it to my LJ, Deviantart or Furaffinity pages. Then the finished painting gets sent to you.
Matting, framing and shipping: The costs quoted above covers the painting itself and not any matting/framing or shipping. Single matting is an additional $10 or double matting $15. Framing would vary depending on size and how elaborate frame you want. I don't charge extra for this, just the cost of the frame, matting and plastic. Shipping will depend of the size of the painting of course!
Payment: I'm pretty flexible on payment and am willing to work with you to get something that makes us both happy. Time payments are available. However, having been ripped off a couple times I would need half up front before I start painting. This too can be done as time payments. The other half (unless we've worked out a payment plan) is due when the painting is completed and before it is shipped. I can take paypal, cheques or money orders.
