William Henry Longhurst (1819-1904)

William was organist at canterbury Cathedral. His father added seven 16ft pedal pipes to the organ, and William related that, as a six-year old, he was made to crawl inside one of these and sing. Few Cathedral organsits can say that they have sung a solo from inside one of their own organ pipes.
