Tournament Results 2007
This years tournament saw twenty of the best
ladies softball teams in the province competing! We welcomed our first
ever team from Quebec in this our eight year.
Congratulations to the Rebelles JRS. from Quebec for taking top spot. The
Byron Intermediates claimed the runner-up spot this year.
The tournament has grown impressively from our inaugural effort in 2000, when we had eight teams entered. Saugeen Shores were the winners that year over Port Dover.
The level of competition continues to improve every year. We are looking forward to another great time in 2008!
Tournament Results 2006
The 2006 Swing Into Summer Tournament grew
to twenty four teams this year. Five other teams were waiting in the
background for a team to drop out!
This year also saw the tournament start in three separate parks and end up in
two locations. Some of Ontario's top teams once again gave solid
performances. The winning team for 2006 was the Oakville
Jr. Ladies, with the Clarington Cougars coming in second place.
If there is enough interest, next years
tournament will have tier one and two divisions.
Again, a large thanks to all teams, and we'll see you next year!
Tournament
Results 2005
The 2005 tournament didn't see the return of any of our neighbors to the south. On the other hand we had some
solid performances from some of Ontario's top teams. Being our 6th annual tournament, things ran smoothly with all 20 teams reporting a great time at the tournament. Games stayed close throughout most of the tournament, with a very tough battle to the end.
The Palmerston Jr's pushed through Sunday, and when they seemed just that little bit sluggish, came out on top to be the better team in each game they played.
The final game pitted the tough Provincial I champions, and Bronze medal winning Cambridge Jr's,
against Palmerston. It was a long fight right to the end, with Palmerston winning 4-2.
Everyone that participated made this a really great weekend. Thanks to our sponsors, Schneider's Meats, Benny's Lounge, Levesque and Deane Law Firm, and Martin's Family Fruit Farm. As well, thanks to all our volunteers who helped out this year. Have a safe and 2005 season, and we will see you all again next year.
Tournament Results 2004
Our
5th Annual Swing Into Summer Tournament proved to be a great success.
We were able to field 20 teams again this year and pulled in a very competitive
draw as well. Our official status as an International Tournament held true this
year, with Taylor Door returning to recapture their Championship and
The Rochester Thunder coming up for their first taste of the Swing.
The games stayed close throughout most of the tournament, including the
exciting semi-final and finals. After a 9 inning battle with local Baden
Intermediate team, they played another nail biter against Scarborough. Both
teams scored back and forth and eventually pushed the game into the 8th
inning. After not being able to score in the top of the 8th,
Scarborough took the field to try and put Stratford down to get a second try.
Unfortunately, with two out, Scarborough threw the ball to third and it went off
of the runner and into left field. This allowed the runner to score and ended
the game for Scarborough.
All the teams fought hard and made this years tournament one of our best.
Again thanks to everyone for all your help this year and to our sponsors for
all their support and lastly to John Forte, my father for doing all the work
this year. Keep checking the site for next years updates! ........We'll see you
then!
Tournament Results 2003
This year we saw the rise
of our international break-through with two teams out of Michigan. The "Michigan
Motion" and "Taylor Door".
We also expanded this year bringing the total number of teams to 20. The teams
played out of Budd Park and Peter Hallman Ball-yards.
Going this big called for more volunteers and we are going to need even more for
next year. We put a call out to Cameron Heights for student volunteers and
one student answered. Thanks to Nicole Reichenbach, and our other volunteers
Shawn Lord, Jodi Caughy, Sue Forte, Kathy Helm, John Forte, Donna Forte
and Zoey and Micaila. We appreciate everything you did to help make this a great
weekend.
This year’s finals saw a
close game between Taylor Door, out of Michigan and The Hamilton Pontiacs.
From start to finish it was solid defense and pitching. The final
score turning a 2-1 decision in favor of Taylor Door. Both teams put in solid
performances.
A special credit goes to this year’s MVP’s, Jessie Milosek from Taylor Door
and Christine Bassett from the Hamilton Pontiacs. Both ladies had great
weekends
in the field and at the plate. Again, thanks to all the teams who came out and
lastly to John Forte for putting it all together.
We look forward to seeing you all in 2004.

suggestions, comments, or photo’s for us, please email or call anytime.

2002
This year we saw two new teams battle it out
for first. The K-W Devils Intermediate team fought a long hard
day, but came up short against a powerful Ancaster Blizzard
Midget 2 squad. The final score was a pounding 11-3 in favour of
the Ancaster Blizzard. Congratulations to both teams on a great
tournament. Special thanks to all the teams who came out this
year. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
Thank-you also to our volunteers, Sue Forte, Kathy Helm, Jean
Forte, Donna Forte, Rick Lucas, Jen Paddon, and my nieces Micaila
and Zoey.
Also thanks to Dave and Val for coaching our two allstar teams,
and to Mike and Steve Kuhl for taking their time to umpire the
game.
Thanks to our sponsors:

Ps. Dont forget to check out our scrapbook. If anyone has photos from the tournament we would love
to add them to the scrapbook.

The 2001 tournament was a great success!
Twelve teams
battled in our second annual tournament, an increase of four
teams from the inaugural tournament.
**Congrats to the Hamilton Pontiacs, for emerging as the champions.**
The Port Dover Phantoms came away as runners up
for the second consecutive year.....some incentive there?
We would like to thank all the teams that participated, you helped make it a great day for all involved.
The year 2000 tournament had Eight (8) teams competing. Saugeen Shores were the winners over Port Dover.
