Executive Summary
Corporate sponsorship is very important to
the Canadian Improv Games and to the new Waterloo Regional Tournament.
The Regional Director looks forward to working with representatives of
your company to develop a unique, imaginative, and mutually beneficial
sponsorship package. We are very open to new ideas, and as this is
our first year, there are many opportunities that will not come again,
such as having a trophy in your company's name. We invite you
to look through our executive summary and consider our sponsorship opportunities.
The Tournament:
The celebrated Canadian Improv Games
(in existence for over 20 years) are setting up a competition in the Waterloo
Region for the first time this year. High school students from all
across our area of southern Ontario will be offered a chance to build confidence,
develop their theatrical abilities, and collaborate with other young actors
as a part of the Waterloo Regional Tournament, which will take place in
the early Spring of 2001. Teams of students will compete to produce
high-quality, spontaneous theatrical scenes. The teams' play will be judged
by members of the local theatre community, and the most successful team
will go the National Arts Centre in Ottawa to compete against schools from
Vancouver, St. John's, and everywhere in between.
Regional Director:
Jeremy Taylor, Drama student at the
University of Waterloo and member of the 1999 national championship team.
Audience:
The Waterloo Regional Improv Games
is in contact with approximately 100 schools in Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge,
Guelph, London, Hamilton, and surrounding areas. 120 students will
be competing, and the audience will be comprised mainly of their peers
(14-18 years old) and their families, who represent a large range of professions.
There will also be many attendees from the local theatre community, as
well as university-aged volunteers.
Sponsorship Opportunities:
Sponsorship will vary depending on
the relationship we are able to establish. In return for your support
you will receive promotional opportunities (posters, brochures, website),
media recognition (press releases, media and print advertisements), name/logo
recognition (programs, theatre entrance, onstage prior to performance and/or
during intermission), and the opportunity to come and watch talented young
actors at their spontaneous best!
