After some thought I decided although this site was set up to feature past London Knights I could not leave out the 1972 Team Canada hockey cards.I am not going to spend any time with bios, facts or figures the official site HERE covers it. I just thought I would include the cards I treasured as a youngster and still treasure now. Anyone who grew up in the 70's knows that it was our cold war.. Canada against the Soviet Union playing "our game" When game 8 was played I'm sure many of you remember being dismissed from school or leaving work. The nation came to a standstill we all gathered with family and friends around our radios and TVs watching, listening and hoping Canada would win. I'm sure most of us remember exactly where we were that day. I remember watching the first period in the school gym before leaving during the intermission to head home.Then came "The Goal" we either saw it or heard it on the radio but who will ever forget the great Foster Hewitt yelling ""Here's a shot. Henderson makes a wild stab for it and falls. Here's another shot. Right in front. They Score! Henderson has scored for Canada!"
