Dual Line Kites
(High Tech Fun!)

The F36 is the one that really got me hooked into flying modern high tech kites. This little high wind speedster was "state of the art" back in the mid to late 80's. Note two things... no standoffs and a unique 4 point bridle (two points onthe spine and one at each leading edge connecter) with the secondary spreader from which the tow points are taken from. In a high wind flys great. It has had a nose job to fix a lost original rubber tube one. The original came with 100 foot plus nylon lines. Still fly it on those super windy days!

The Flexifoil Erazor. The second stunt kite I ever bought. What can I say but let the gale force winds blow! This 72" wide kite is one great workout in high winds. So much pull that my flying buddy went off across a frozen lake on skis being pulled by this kite. Easy tricks and the first kite to come with a warning about the pull. I like it a lot!

My second kite the Mirage 2. Sail ripstop polyester made by Ziggy Kites. Span is 95". Frame. Avia 2300 with Skyshark 5P lower spreaders. Wind range 3-25 mph. It is a French design similar to the Prism Illusion. A great flyer and with a bit of work a good trick kite. I use it as my mid wind range kite. Big and beautiful!!

This kite is always a head turner. The Utopia from Flying Wings is a high tech kite with a low tech price. Total fun to fly. The three sets of standoffs and different positions plus the adjustability of the bridle means that you can fly this kite almost any which way you please. Precision and tricks all work with this kite.

This is the Utopia's little brother. The Beetle is a rough and tumble little kite. Yet it still does the tricks and can be finessed into all sorts of positions. The noisy trailing edge gives it away every time and drives my flying buddy crazy! ;)

Here is the latest addition to my collection. A ZR Reflex copy. Cool applique and nifty 2300 frame make this a pretty and sturdy flying machine. A great trickster and good precision kite. The first kite I have flown that seems to "want" to do tricks!!

OK, so you want to fly indoors and you are on a budget. This is the kite for you! The BV Pi is a 50" span, .08 micro-carboned framed little floater that is a real hoot to fly. Even makes me look good! ;) Now that is something!! Fly it on 9-12 foot lines of either heavy nylon threaad, 50Lb test spectra gold, or 20 Lb test braided dacron. The nylon thread gives it a whole new springyness that is fun, fun, fun!!
