Biscuits

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Mix in a medium sized bowl:
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cut in with 2 knives less than a 1/4 cup slice of shortening. Small pea-like formations will appear.

Add a little more than 1/4 cup of milk all at once.

Mix and deposit on a floured table top. Knead about 10 times and roll out 1/2 inch thick.
Cut out biscuits with a drinking tumbler.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

Makes 8.
