John's Slow Stew.

Ingredients:
a 2 lb roast, (cheap is good).
2 carrots cut up
3 potatoes cut up
3 stalks of celery cut up
2 onions cut up
handful of turnip cut up
ketchup
worcester sauce
salt and pepper
water

Method:
Place the roast in the middle of the slow cooker pot.
Place the vegetables around the roast
Add enough water to almost cover the vegetables
Mix in 1/2 cup of ketchup with the vegetables
Place a big glob of ketchup right on the roast.
Dab worcester sauce all around.

Cook:
Turn on the slow cooker on low.
When you come back from work, (assuming you worked a full shift), take out the roast and cut it up in bite-size pieces.
Add 1 heaping tablespoon of flour to the pot, stir.
Add the meat back to the pot and hike it up to high for another 15 minutes.
It's done.
(For added octane, dump a can of baked beans in when you come home from work too)

Eat with a bottle of shiraz, bottle of beer or glass of milk
