Turkey Vultures

On December. 13, 2003 Mike and I found a single bird in the fields just north of Heidelberg. Thinking that was strange enough, we were really quite surprised to see 5 TUVU's near Wallenstein on the 20th. We were able to get these 5 birds on the Linwood Christmas Bird Count on the 28th. The next time I was able to go back and look for them was January the 10th. This time there were 9(!) birds feeding in the same field. This was the last time we saw these birds, maybe the reports of TUVU's in the Hamilton and along the Grand River were "our" birds.
