Hairy Woodpecker

Although Hairy Woodpeckers are fairly common on the mainland in mature forests, Long Point doesn't really have any mature forests so I was really quite surprised to see this bird around the cabin on May 23, 2003. LPBO on average gets one or two Hairy Woodpeckers per year and usaully at Old Cut.
