They may be gone but will never be forgotten.

Although the above were pets, they were as much sons and daughters as my human son is. I mourn their loss but also rejoice in the excitement and pleasure they brought to me during their brief time on this earth.

I know that when my own time comes, each and every one who has gone before me will be waiting to greet me with tails wagging and purrs humming.

"A long time ago when the earth was green..." I started my long journey into Genealogy with nothing more than an idle curiosity fanned into a spark of life by my mother way back in the late 1970's. This site and all my research is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Helen Delrene (Josling) CLEGG (1929-1981), who taught me, among other things, to love and live life to its' fullest, to always put my best foot forward and to laugh at doorknobs. Thanks Mom! I wonder if she knew the roads I would travel in my search for the past? Odds are she did. Mom was the type of person to set a challenge for herself and then overcome that challenge before moving on to the next. Unfortunately, Mom set a challenge that she was unable to complete and I have taken up the torch in her memory.

Paternal Family:

The saga of the CLEGG family begins with the journey of my Great-Great-Grandfather, Edward CLEGG sometime after c1817 in County Monaghan, Ireland and arriving in Ontario, Canada sometime prior to 1840. The details of that journey are hidden from view, as, up to this point in time, the records appear to be lost to history. Only time will tell if those details will surface.

Because of the scope of trying to trace the SHAW family in England, I have shied away from this endeavor. One of these days, I will forge ahead but not quite yet.

Maternal Family:

The sagas of the JOSLING and MOFFETT families have only just begun. To date I have not found much in the way of information and, like my CLEGG rock, appear to be taking on the same form. Again, only time will hold the answers.

So follow the links below to another world...a world containing but a few of my ancestors. Perhaps you will recognize a name. Perhaps we are long lost cousins. But, most of all, I hope you enjoy your journey through the rocks and pebbles as I have enjoyed mine.
