Monster Statistics Reference Table
What makes a level 28 monster level 28? Simply making the
monster's level equal to 28 is only the first step and though it is an important
one, the only solid information that the game actually has hard coded by level
is saving throws for spell resistance. Monster hitpoints, damage
capabilities, armor class, odds of successfully attacking, experience values and
the number of gold coins they carry in their inventory are all properties that
must be set individually. Use the following table as a guideline when
determining the statistics you wish to assign to a mobile for each of those
important attributes.
Keep in mind that these are all "average" values for a monster of each
level. Some might hit a little harder and others might have a few under
the normal number of hitpoints. Variety is the spice of life, so do feel
free to mix up your monster stats. Just try to keep deviations within
reason and keep them logical. Increases or decreases of 10% to experience
and gold are fine, but try to make sure that these values remain an accurate
representation of the creature's difficulty. An abnormally easy monster of
level 30 should not have more experience and gold than a "normal" monster of
level 30.
