Christmas 2006
I really like Christmas - I know that Santa left presents for me... and the other beardies too!

See how happy I am that Santa brought me a present!

My name is Kyla. I was just 8 weeks old in this photo above. This is what my new mom found about my name:
Kyla - (kI-lah) (Gaelic) "Comely or lovely". She thought I was just lovely, so she picked this name. I have learned my name already - I am a smart puppy!

This is my mother. Her name is Maxine, or
"Can/Am. Ch. Sheiling Angel of the D'Arque, HCT".
She is a show dog and she herds sheep, too. I am going to follow in her footsteps!

This is my father. His name is Dazs or
"Am. Ch. Firstprizebears Haagen Dazs, ROMA"
Many of his offspring do agility. Maybe I should try that too. I think I am going to be a busy beardie!

I started my show dog lessons at an early age. I was just 6 weeks old in this photo. My mom is now teaching me to stand properly on the floor (and not run to play!!). She is using something called "clicker training"

I am now 10 weeks old. I am always checking the floor to see if my mom missed any twigs when she vacuumed. Twigs can be more fun than my toys! I also love playing outside in the snow...

A 12 week old puppy needs her rest to be ready for the next adventure. Sleep is better when surrounded by my favourite toys!
My dad trapped me so that mom could take a picture. As you can see, I'm a handful!

I get a lot of exercise, especially running around the house... and I love being outside in the snow!

I am now 14 weeks old and my mom thought she should get a "formal pose" photo. I did not make it easy for her because there are just so many things to do - I am a busy puppy and don't have time to just sit in chairs!

Well, mom finally took another photo of me.  I'm 5 1/2 months old now. About time for a photo, I say. As you can probably see, I have been having fun playing in the mud of spring (a beardie ritual, I am told)!
June 8, 2003 - today my mom took me for a car ride and then a place where there were people and other dogs...and SHEEP. I had never seen sheep before, but I just knew what to do! Here I am going to gather the lambs back to my mom. The nice man who was the "tester" said he was impressed by me!

I am now a a big girl - I am one year old. Who wants to pose for pictures when a girl could be out herding sheep???
But, as you can see, I still like running around the house!

August 2004 - I have been learning to herd sheep and here I am at a real herding trial. These sheep were escaping from my mom and she told me to go get them. I got to herd the sheep two times and my mom told me I did a good job and earned my first CKC herding title!

Please come back and visit again as I grow up and learn all kinds of things!

Please visit the other beardies who are part of the family here.
