Just as you can be an advocate for the homeless for the homeless, so can
your children. Ask them to tell their friends what you have taught them about
helping the homeless. If your family does volunteer work, bring along some of
your children's friends to watch. At school, your children can tailor school
projects, such as book reports or speeches, around issues confronting the
homeless. The more children learn about the hardships of the homeless, the more
likely it is that they will pitch in to aid the poor and disadvantaged.
