Edward Rimbault (1816-1876)

Rimbault played the organ at the St. Peter’s, Vere Street; St. John’s Wood Presbyterian Church; and the Swiss Church in Soho, London. He helped found the Musical Antiquarian Society in 1840, and composed operettas and popular and religious music. He once received — and declined — a position as professor of music at Harvard College.
