The Forest City Gallery is an artist-run centre dedicated to the presentation of contemporary artist-initiated exhibitions and activities in all media. We are interested in progressive forward-looking practices, innovative ideas, and work based on an articulate theoretical, critical and/or conceptual thesis. We are enthusiastic about artists' most recent endeavors and those art forms which propel contemporary production and incite conversation.
All propoals must include:
1.A maximum of twenty digital images representing a recent body of work or a specific project. Digital images should be in jpeg format no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels at 72 dpi. They should be numbered 01 to 20 (01_tree, 02_house, 03_car etc.) Time based submissions in the form of DVDs should be abbreviated to no longer than 10 minutes.
2. A CD or slide list indicating title, year, medium and dimensions.
3. An artist's statement or other written description.
4. A physical description of the proposed exhibition, including the number of works, the space required and any unusual installation requirements.
5. A curriculum vitae, resume or biography.
6. A self-addressed envelope with sufficient return postage.

FCG will take reasonable care with submission materials; however, we cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss.
FCG does not accept submissions by fax or email. Artists are paid in accordance with the CARFAC Fee Schedule.

La Forest City Gallery est dirigée par des artistes qui se vouent à la présentation d’expositions et d’activités touchant à plusieurs types de média, dont l’initiative revient à des artistes. Nous sommes intéressés par des pratiques progressives, allant de l’avant, les idées novatrices, et par des travaux basés sur l’articulation théorique, critique et/ou une thèse conceptuelle.
Toute proposition doit inclure:

Forest City Gallery is now accepting submissions for the inaugural exhibition of the Act(ivat)ion series. This annual addition to FCG’s programming is open to emerging artists, curators, and collectives who have recently completed their undergraduate/graduate studies (in the last five years) and currently live in the London area. As part of Act(ivat)ion the selected artist(s) will work with a team of art professionals in the development, presentation, and promotion of their exhibition at FCG*
The Forest City Gallery encourages submissions that critically reflect and address recent developments in cultural production.
Submissions must be received by May 1st, 2008. Please include:
-A project description/ Artist statement (250 words max)
-CV
- Digital images set at 1024 x 768 and 72dpi (max. 10), video, DVD or CDROM.
Submission packages will not be returned.
Submissions that are sent by email or fax will not be accepted.
Act(ivat)ion runs from July 3rd – July 11th, 2008.
Selected artists will be paid an honorarium.
*The selected artist(s) must be available for installation dates.
